Catappa leaves, also known as Indian or Tropical almond leaves, naturally improve the quality of your aquarium water. It supports natural behaviour and readiness to spawn and offers food and protection for fry.

As an added benefit, these almond leaves provide a natural remedy for skin problems and injuries in fish. The tannins released by tropical almond leaves kill bacteria, fungus and viruses, allowing an injured fish to heal much quicker. Adding an almond leaf to the tank of a stressed fish can help them fight off infections or prevent them altogether.

Using the Sera Catappa leaves range according to the instructions will help replicate the natural ecosystems of many tropical fish. Catappa leaves also help slowly lower the water pH and soften the water, supporting optimum water conditions through the release of tannins. It is a gradual breakdown, and there’s no risk of that water parameters changing too quickly for your fish to comfortably handle.

Application

Leaves will sink within 24 - 48 hours. Tip: They sink immediately and are easier to digest by pouring boiling water over them in advance. Active substances are released within 2 - 3 weeks.
